Milking sheep is a long process, and it happens three times a day. These guys live up in the shepherd camp all summer with the flocks, and the huge, aggressive shepherd dogs.

Life in a Carpathian mountain village
What's all this?
My name's Arabella, and I have a stake in Transylvania – in a small village 4,000ft up in the Carpathian Mountains, 8km from Zarnesti, about 45 mins drive from Brasov, and two hours from Sibiu (European Capital of Culture 2007). Bran Castle is in the valley below my house, and there's a bat cave in the next village. Based in Liverpool (UK) for 20 years, I moved out to Transylvania for good in July 2010.
