There's an author. I'm a publisher. He comes from Toxteth (1 mile from my house) although, to be fair, he now lives in Wales. We haven't met yet. We plan to meet soon. In Transylvania.

He's going to be doing some readings in Sibiu, this year's Capital of Culture and the permanent capial of Transylvania (in Romania, for you geographically-challenged types).

Life in a Carpathian mountain village
What's all this?
My name's Arabella, and I have a stake in Transylvania – in a small village 4,000ft up in the Carpathian Mountains, 8km from Zarnesti, about 45 mins drive from Brasov, and two hours from Sibiu (European Capital of Culture 2007). Bran Castle is in the valley below my house, and there's a bat cave in the next village. Based in Liverpool (UK) for 20 years, I moved out to Transylvania for good in July 2010.

Work on your mum - would love it if you came out this summer sometime. Get a tan cutting hay - my neighbours will teach you how to handle a scythe (boys are 14 & 18). I can just hear your mother shuddering at the thought...
